36-year-old David Deem is a very tall and thin American. He stands at 1. 93 meters with blue eyes,curly blond hair,a beard,and an honest and bright smile. People who know him well usually call him “Ding Dawei”.

   Ding Dawei has been a teacher in Dongxiang,a town in northwest China's       Gansu Province since 2000. He is a volunteer who helps the children with their English.

    Ding Dawei was born in Cleveland,Ohio. His father is a manager in a large factory in the US,and his mother was once a middle school teacher. When he was a third-year student in college,he went to China and studied for one year in Beijing University. He came to the country again in 1994 and became a teacher.
