Dear Mr. Smith ,

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for your generous help, without it I would not make such rapid progresses. In my eyes, you are a qualified teacher as well as a closely friend. Patient, humorous, and energetic, you are always making the class lively and interested. It was your devotion and enthusiasm which inspired us and aroused our thirst with English.

Meanwhile,I have some suggestions for you. If possibly,I hope you can introduce more Western culture, which can enrich our life or broaden our horizons. Besides,I would appreciate if you could organize some activities, for example, the English speech contest, through which we can make a better use of what we have learned.

I hope you will find these suggestions practical.

                                                          Yours sincerely,

                                                                  Li Hua

Do you feel like you have too much homework every day? As you know, homework is a major part of going to school. Luckily, there are several things you can do to make homework less work.

* 1 Most high school students have between two and three hours of homework a night. If it is a heavy homework day,you may need to devote even more time. It is a good idea to come up with some kind of homework plan, especially if you are going to play sports or do other activities after school.

* 2A bedroom, study or any room where you can get away from noise is the best place to get homework done. But don't study on your comfortable bed where you might fall asleep fast.

* 3 When you start your homework,do the hardest work first. Some people like to start with the easiest thing to get it out of the way. But you'll have the most energy and focus when you begin. It is best for you to use this mental power on the subjects that are the most challenging.

* 4 Most people's attention span (注意力的持續(xù)時(shí)間) does not last very long,so take some breaks while doing your homework. Sitting for too long without relaxing will make you less productive. Taking a 15-minute break every hour is a good idea for most people.

* 5 Sometimes even though you are paying attention in class, certain subjects seem too hard. The first place to turn for help is your teacher. Sometimes your parents can help you. You may also be able to get some help from another student or a personal tutor.

How often have you used brainstorming to solve a problem? Chances are, you've used it at least once, even if you did not realize it. For decades, people have used brainstorming to generate (生成) ideas, and to come up with creative solutions to problems. However, you need to use brainstorming correctly for it to be fully effective. 1       Step 1 :Prepare the Group First, set up a comfortable meeting environment for the session. Make sure that the room is well lit and that you have the tools, resources, and refreshments that you need.

How much information or preparation does your team need in order to brainstorm solutions? Remember that prep is important, but too much can limit―or even destroy―the freewheeling nature of a brainstorming session.

2      A room full of likeminded people won't generate as many creative ideas as a diverse group,so try to include people from a wide range of disciplines and include people with a variety of different thinking styles.

Step 2 :Present the Problem Clearly define the problem that you want to solve, and lay out any criteria that you must meet. Make it clear that the meeting's objective is to generate as many ideas as possible.

Give people plenty of quiet time at the start of the session to write down as many of their own ideas as they can. 3       Step 3 :Guide the Discussion Once everyone has shared their ideas, start a group discussion to develop other people's ideas, and use them to create new ideas. 4       Encourage everyone to contribute and to develop ideas, including the quietest people, and discourage anyone from criticizing ideas.

Share ideas if you have them, but spend your time and energy supporting your team and guiding the discussion.

5       People are most creative when they are enjoying themselves in a relaxing environment.

   A. Consider who will attend the meeting.

   B. After the brainstorming session, you'll have a lot of ideas.

   C. Above all, remember to let everyone have fun while brainstorming.

   D. To run a group brainstorming session (會(huì)議,會(huì)期) effectively, follow these steps.

   E. Building on others' ideas is one of the most valuable aspects of group brainstorming.

   F. Then, ask them to share their ideas, while giving everyone a fair opportunity to contribute.

   G. Make sure that you get a good number of different ideas, and explore individual ideas in detail.

1.                  2.         3.         4.       5.
