As of 2020,space tourism will become a reality. You can book flights with 330 other people who want to fly into space. At this time, the cost is $ 200,000 per flight, but it is expected that the cost will soon come down. It is estimated that by 2025 about 15,000 people will fly into space every year.

No doubt these advances will lead to new extreme sports for brave people to try. By 2025 a famous actress that wants to give her career a boost might try to ride a surfboard (沖浪板) in space, through the atmosphere, and then sail past a beach in California before landing on the nearby ocean, and then surf back to the beach. The surfboard will be extra large, and it can control weather.

At the start of the flight, she will have to wear a space outfit and be strapped onto the surfboard which will act as protection. But as it gets lower in height and it becomes warmer, she can start taking off her clothes. The world's media will watch and report on every move as she throws each piece away, and watch as the pieces quickly bum up. As she gets lower and glides the surfboard over to the beach near     Los Angeles, she will get rid of the rest. So she will be wearing a bikini as she glides in and lands on the ocean and then goes on to surf to the beach.

The only foreseeable problem with this extreme sport is that a day will have to be found in which there isn’t too much garbage in the ocean.

科目:高中英語 來源: 題型:

Housing price in China has always aroused heated discussion among property developers and ordinary Chinese. To many property developers and local government officials, housing price in China is still low compared with many developed countries. However, the average housing price in the United States is only 8 ,000 yuan per square metre, while in China,it is even higher than that in the United States. This shows that there are some bubbles (泡沫) in Chinese real estate (房地產) market,” the International Finance News reported.

Although the average price of residential houses in the United States, after changed to RM B. is about 8 ,000 yuan per square metre, the houses in the US are not sold in terms of building area,as most Chinese property developers do when they sell their houses. If the US property developers sell their houses according to the building area, the housing price will be even lower than 8 ,000 yuan per square metre. In most big Chinese cities, such as Beijing,Shanghai and Shenzhen, houses are sold at a price even higher than those in the US.

The high housing price in large cities in China proves that Chinese real estate market does have some bubbles. Moreover,Chinese houses can not be compared with houses in the US in terms of building quality, environment and supporting facilities. Furthermore,it should be noted that American people's average income is several dozen times higher than that of Chinese people. How can the Chinese afford to buy a house which is even more expensive than that sold in the US?

At the beginning of 2007,Chinese government issued a set of policies that aimed to benefit the public. Now in order to reduce the high housing prices, the government can regulate the real estate market by raising tax on property industry and controlling the release of loans and lands to property developers. Meanwhile, the government should allow people to build more houses through various fund-raising channels, such as funds collected from buyers or raised by working units. By applying these multiple means,it is expected that the high housing prices can be lowered and Chinese public can really benefit from the economic achievement.

Why should mankind explore space? Why should money, time and effort be spent exploring and researching something with so few apparent benefits? Why should resources be spent on space rather than on conditions and people on earth? These are questions that, understandably, are very often asked.

Perhaps the best answer lies in our genetic makeup (基因構成) as human beings. What drove our ancestors to move from the trees into the plains, and on into all possible areas and environments? The wider the spread of a species, the better its chance of survival. Perhaps the best reason for exploring space is this genetic tendency to expand wherever possible.

Nearly every successful civilisation has explored, because by doing so,any dangers in surrounding areas can be identified and prepared for. Without knowledge,we may be completely destroyed by the danger. With knowledge,we can lessen its effects.

Exploration also allows minerals and other potential (潛在的) resources to be found. Even if we have no immediate need of them, they will perhaps be useful later. Resources may be more than physical possessions. Knowledge or techniques have been acquired through exploration. The techniques may have medical applications which can improve the length or quality of our lives. We have already benefited from other spinoffs including improvements in earthquake prediction,in satellites for weather forecasting and in communications sys-tems. Even nonstick pans and mirrored sunglasses are by-products (副產品) of technological developments in the space industry!

While many resources are spent on what seems a small return, the exploration of space allows creative, brave and intelligent members of our species to focus on what may serve to save us. While space may hold many wonders and explanations of how the universe was formed or how it works,it also holds dangers. The danger exists, but knowledge can help human beings to survive. Without the ability to reach out across space, the chance to save ourselves might not exist.

While earth is the only planet known to support life, surely the adaptive ability of humans would allow us to live on other planets. It is true that the lifestyle would be different, but human life and cultures have adapted in the past and surely could in the future.

66. Why does the author mention the questions in Paragraph 1 ?

   A. To express his doubts.

   B. To compare different ideas.

   C. To introduce points for discussion.

   D. To describe the conditions on earth.

67. What is the reason for exploring space based on Paragraph 2 ?

   A. Humans are nature-bom to do so.

   B. Humans have the tendency to fight.

   C. Humans may find new sources of food.

   D. Humans don't like to stay in the same place.

68. The underlined word  spinoffsM in Paragraph 4 probably refers to .

   A. survival chances   B. potential resources

   C. unexpected benefits   D. physical possessions

69. What makes it possible for humans to live on other planets?

   A. Our genetic makeup.

   B. Resources on the earth.

   C. The adaptive ability of humans.

   D. By-products in space exploration.

70. Which of the statements can best sum up the passage?

   A. Space exploration has created many wonders.

   B. Space exploration provides the best value for money.

   C. Space exploration can benefit science and technology.

   D. Space exploration may help us avoid potential problems on the earth.
