THE CHARM OF CHARITY
A poor young man lost his job and had no one to help him. Helpless, homeless and hopeless, he decided to commit suicide. He   36  all the coins he had with him and bought a ripe banana wrapped in an old newspaper. He opened the packet and started to eat his last food   37  an old beggar approached him. With trembling lips, the beggar told him that he hadn’t had anything to eat for several days and was too weak to walk. The young man felt   38 . So he didn’t eat the banana.   39 , he gave the banana to the beggar. The beggar ate it with great joy and   40__  him. While leaving, the beggar gave him a very old coin, saying, “Thank you very much. You gave me everything you had. Kindly accept this coin as my gift   41  your kindness.”
After the old man left, he   42  glanced at the piece of paper used to wrap the fruit. There he saw a(n)  43  from an agency dealing with old coins. Anyone   44  old coins was invited to visit the agency and receive suitable price for their old coins on the spot. Out of simple   45 , he carried the coin to the agency after   46  it by phone. He showed the coin gifted by the beggar. The person who   47  the agency stared at it and told him in excitement, “What a   __48  ! It is very   49  and several centuries old. It is worth a(n)  50  !” Jumping with joy on receiving the   51  amount of money, he searched everywhere to find the old man who gifted him the coin. He wanted to   52  his joy and the money with the beggar. But he could not find him anywhere. Since then, he started a new life with renewed   53  and enthusiasm about the future.
Kindness will be   54 . It always comes back! As William Wordsworth wrote,“ The best part of a good life is the little, nameless, unremembered acts of   55  and love.”

In a world where comparisons happen non-stop, it is difficult to look outside yourself and to ever be   21  with who you are. There’s always someone who’s a bit   22 . The only solution is to reach   23  and measure against what Warren Buffett calls your own inner yardstick. There is no more   24  measure for comparison than who your were yesterday, last week or last decade, when you were at your   25 .
Nothing useful ever comes from comparison to others .Either you see yourself as better than someone and you get   26 , or you see someone else as better than you and you feel like all your hard work is for   27 . It is a fool’s game. Not one of us is exactly   28 . The only direct and honest comparison is   29  yourself. Everything else is apples to oranges.
My opinion is that you are only   30  to compare yourself to someone else if their life  31  is the same as your own. Good luck finding that   32 . And one thing is for sure. No matter how hard you work and how dedicated(埋頭苦干的)you are, there will always be someone who can run a little faster, jump a little higher, score a little better or look a little nicer in a swimsuit. And if there’s not, you can   33  someone is coming up fast   34  you. So how can you always win in life? Become your best   35 .
Having an image of your most recent past limits is the perfect thing to   36  you to the next level. If you ran 7 flights of stairs yesterday, then do 8 today. Who   37  if the guy next to you did 15? It doesn’t make a bit of   38 . You are a more   39  person today than you were yesterday. Your own   40  is all you need.

Bad behavior is something that most people don’t want to tolerate. However, we have had to tolerate it more and more with each passing year. There seems to be no concern for other people’s feelings; nor do we seem to care about other people’s property. We live in an age where saying what is on our minds has priority over any harm that it might do.
There are ways to deal with bad behavior in modern times, though. Too many of us let bad behavior go because we don’t want to rock the boat. This is the time that you should rock the boat and rock it hard. Let people know that you expect it to change. That is the key to dealing with bad behavior. If it continues, take the proper action for the situation you are in. If you have developed the habit of bad behavior, take a hard look at it and then change it. You can’t expect others to behave well if you aren’t willing to look at your own bad behavior and change it.
If you don’t have control over anything in a situation, just walk away from it and move on to something that you do have control over. You needn’t feel ashamed of that. Besides, you must stand firm in what you believe. You can’t control what other people do, but you can control what you do about it. You can’t go wrong if you stand firm in what you believe. Understanding your responsibility is also important. Don’t try to take on the responsibility for other people’s behavior. Take care of what you have to and do it in the way you know it should be done. The rest will take care of itself.
Bad behavior is on the rise with more and more people behaving badly without having to pay any consequences. Worry about how you behave rather than how others behave. Pretty soon, it just may catch on.
