I am writing to ask that you are able to do me a favor. I want to have a pen friend, hopefully, a girl in her early twenties, and with interests similarly to mine. In my mind, he is someone interesting in traveling, swimming, and playing table tennis. However, it would be better for her to have a pet dog as I have been kept one at home for some time. With such a pen friend, I hope I can share with her our experiences in traveling, taking care pets, or whatever we have in common. Anna and I have been good friends when we were children. Two years ago, her family got into trouble because a terrible accident. To cheer her up, I always try my best to help her.

One day she said she would invite us to have lunch. I began to worry: she had no money, and if I offered to pay, I would hurt her. We arrived at a restaurant, where was small but seemed nice and quiet. She paid for only one meal and we were started to enjoy the delicious food together. She told me that the restaurant let people work for the meal if they had no money.

Life cannot be easy for us, but we can still do anything for our friends. The world will be nice if everybody would like to share happiness with others.

They use thin models and celebrities to endorse(做廣告宣傳) products or to star in an up-and-coming shows or movies. With fierce competition, celebrities are forced to eat less and do extreme exercise routines to get the roles or offers that come their way.

Living in today’s time and generation is a bit disturbing to a lot of parents. Media, especially as well as the celebrities, have a very powerful influence to drive teenagers to good or bad. It’s good that we can control ourselves to avoid bad things from happening. If not, parents should really be aware and guide their teens to determine what’s in and what’s out.

Bicycle Safety

Operation Always ride your bike in a safe, controlled manner on campus. Watch out for walkers and other bicyclists, and always use your lights in dark conditions.

Theft Prevention Always securely lock your bicycle to a bicycle rack---even if you are only away for a minute. Register your bike with the University Department of Public Safety. It’s fast, easy, and free. Registration permanently records your serial number, which is useful in the possible recovery of the bike stolen.

Riding on Campus As a bicycle rider, you have a responsibility to ride only on streets and posted bicycle paths. Riding on sidewalks or other walkways can lead to a fine. The speed limit for bicycles on campus is 15mph. While you may think that being smart and talented would logically make someone successful in running a business, unfortunately, this is often not the case.

Smart and talented people often have a gift for the unusual, complicated or different. They don’t like to follow the KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid), which is required to make a business succeed. Maybe you think the global presence of McDonald’s complex, but in fact, in the company, every single task is broken down into easy-to-follow steps and everything has been standardized. These successful companies have just a few smart enough people to run the majority of the tasks in a way that can’t be screwed up by their average employees. So, being smart or talented isn’t going to help you unless you can use your talent to figure out a way to simplify those tasks that will make a business successful.

Another issue with the smart people starting businesses is that they often have the most to lose. The smarter you are, the more choices you have available to you. You will be able to make a lot of money in various fields and have room in your career to become promoted. This means that when you start a business, you have a lot more to risk than those who are not equally smart. This is often referred to as the “golden handcuffs” dilemma.

So, don’t be surprised when the person “MOST Likely to Succeed” from high school ends up as an employee and it is one average student that finds success in his or her own business.
