Language is always changing and developing. This isn’t a bad thing. If English hadn’t changed for a long time,we wouldn’t have words to describe telephones, washing machines, computers or some other new things.
Language changes for several reasons. First,it changes because the needs of its speakers change. New technologies, new products, and new experiences need new words to express them clearly. Another reason for change is that different people have different language experiences. People use different sets of words and expressions, because they have different ages, jobs, education levels (水平) and so on.
How does language develop then? On the one hand, many of the language changes begin with young people. When young people communicate with others of their own age, their language grows in grammar, words and expressions that are different from the older people's. Some have a short lifetime but others can influence the language for long. On the other hand,we get new words in many different ways. We borrow them from other languages;we create them by making words shorter or combining words and we make them out of proper names.
Languages that don't change over time are consideped dead languages. The fact that English changes so much shows that it is alive and well.

Bollywood : the Hollywood of India
You might be surprised to learn that India produces about 800 movies a year, and that number continues to grow. Just as the movie capital of the United States is Hollywood, the movie capital of India is Bombay (孟買) ,but it is usually called "Bollywood”,a combination (結(jié)合) of the words Bombay and Hollywood.
No Bollywood movie is thought complete without a few songs and dances. In fact, music is an important part of Bollywood movies. Even a bad movie can still do well if the music is good. Music directors are sometimes more popular than the film stars. A Bollywood movie has five to six songs with at least three songs to show what the dances mean.
Bollywood may be different from Hollywood in music, but it is very like Hollywood in several ways. If Tom Cruise can hold a gun,so can the Bollywood hero Shahrukh Khan. Bollywood stars are followed by news reporters just as often as Hollywood stars. The personal lives of actors and actresses catcb the headlines (頭版頭條) ,just as they do in the United Statf.
The Oscars are a very exciting time of the year for actors and actresses in America. Bollywood has its own form of the Oscars, and they are also very exciting.
71. The name Bollywood comes from the words.
72. Bollywood is a place where many are made each year.
73. In India, the film stars are sometimes popu-lar than music directors.
74. Every complete Bollywood movie has a few in them.
75. The Oscars in India are as as those in A-merica though they are different.
