There are many things you can do to keep friendship strong.

Believing is very important in keeping any relationship strong and long. If you believe a person whom you have a good relationship with and the person also believes you in the same way, then you two have a good relationship.

You can remember important dates of your friends such as their birthdays and wish them happy or give gifts to them on these special days. Many people say that money is the most important thing to consider ,but remember friendship is not about money. You can find something small and inexpensive for their gifts or send online cards.

A friend should also always help others even when it is not very suitable. So have a helping hand ready at all times.

Sometimes space makes relationships even closer. So,if you are far from your friends, there are many ways you can keep in contact. You can use emails, chat programs, and you can also write a blog and share your daily life activities with your friends.

If there is anything that makes you happy, share it with your friends. Listen to their thoughts as well. If they have achieved something noticeable ^ congratulate them and celebrate with them.

三、 任務(wù)型閱讀

Learning to understand your mother well is what you should do. Here are the best steps towards a better relationship with her. They are not necessarily surprising, but they have worked for many people. Try them.

      Remember your mother's age.

As children,we often do not think of our mother as having an age. Knowing our mother's age,not just in numbers of years but in terms of her psychological (心理上的) and physicaK生理的) state, often helps us to understand her better.

      Listen to your mother.

I have found that sometimes the things my mother told me long ago are pretty useful. If you respect her point of view, even if you do not share it,it will help your mother feel close to you.

Ask your mother about your childhood history.

If you are lucky enough to have living family, think of your life as a jigsaw puzzle and ask as many questions as you can to put the picture together. Understanding your roots and your childhood can help you know more clearly who you are,as part of afamilywhichyousharewithyourmother.

Taking any measure to understand our mother is the topic of how we understand ourselves. We should follow the way of her life. When we are able to accept our mother—with all her failings,we can understand her better and it can also help us to know about our shortcomings. Remember that understanding our mother is really about understanding ourselves.

根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,回答下列問題。

1. Should we learn to understand our mother well?

2. What can help us understand our mother better?

3. How do we make our mother feel close to us?

4. Why do we ask our mother about our childhood history?

Thirty years ago,Lake Ponkapog in Hartwell,New Jersey, was full of life. Many birds and animals lived beside the water, which was full of fish. Now there are few birds, animals,or fish. The lake water is polluted. It is in a colour of dirty brown, and it is filled with strange plants.

How did this happen? First,we must think about how water gets into Lake Ponkapog. When it rains, water comes into the lake from all around. In the past, there were forests all round Lake Ponkapog,so the rainwater was clean.
