My full name is Tomasz P. Szynalski, but you can call me Tom. I live in Poland. I started learning
English when I was six years old in primary school. I was always one of the best students in class. But
my English was still very bad.
In 1993, I went to high school. It is the best high school in my city. A lot of classes are taught in
English. I took the advice of my English teacher. I bought a good Polish-English dictionary. I started to

understanding spoken English. I also learnt some words and phrases (短語) that I could use in my own
sentences. In class, I would like to talk to the American teacher. When I spoke, I used simple grammar
to avoid (避免) mistakes.

way to have a larger vocabulary. Then I began to use a computer program to learn English words. The
program was called Super Memo. Because of all the reading and Super Memo, my vocabulary was no
longer my weakness. Then I started writing e-mails and talk only in English with some of my friends.
