How many of us have heard that question, "Where was GOD when the World Trade Center(世貿(mào)中心) and the Pentagon(五角大樓) were attacked?" Well, I know where my GOD was the morning of September 11, 2001, and He was very busy!

He was trying to discourage anyone from taking these flights. Those four flights together held over 1000 passengers and there were only 266 aboard.

He was on 4 commercial flights giving frightened passengers the ability to stay calm. Not one of the family members who were called by a loved one on one of the hijacked(被劫持的) planes said that passengers were screaming in the background. On one of the flights he was giving strength to passengers to try to overtake the hijackers.

He was busy trying to create obstacles(阻礙) for employees at the World Trade Center. After all, only around 20,000 were at the towers when the first jet hit. Since the buildings held over 50,000 workers, this was a Miracle in itself. How many of the people who were employed at the World Trade Center told the media that they were late for work or they had traffic delays.

He was holding up 2-110 story buildings so that 2/3 of the workers could get out. I was so amazed that the top of the towers didn't fall when the jets crashed. And when they did fall, GOD made them fall inward, as many more lives would have been lost.

So when anyone asks, "Where was your GOD on September 11," you can say "everywhere"! And yes, although this is without a doubt the worst thing I have seen in my life, I see God's miracles in every bit of it. I can't imagine going through such a difficult time and not believing in GOD – life would be hopeless. So shines a good deed in a weary world!

Honey from the African forest is not only a kind of natural sugar, it is also delicious. Most people, and many animals, like eating it. However, the only way for them to get that honey is to find a wild bees’ nest and take the honey from it. Often, these nests are high up in trees, and it is difficult to find them. In parts of Africa, though, people and animals looking for honey have a strange and unexpected helper — a little bird called a honey guide.

The honey guide does not actually like honey, but it does like the wax in the beehives (蜂房). The little bird cannot reach this wax(), which is deep inside the bees’ nest. So, when it finds a suitable nest, it looks for someone to help it. The honey guide gives a loud cry that attracts the attention of both passing animals and people. Once it has their attention, it flies through the forest, waiting from time to time for the curious animal or person as it leads them to the nest. When they finally arrive at the nest, the follower reaches in to get at the delicious honey as the bird patiently waits and watches. Some of the honey, and the wax, always falls to the ground, and this is when the honey guide takes its share.

Scientists do not know why the honey guide likes eating the wax, but it is very determined in its efforts to get it. The birds seem to be able to smell wax from a long distance away. They will quickly arrive whenever a beekeeper is taking honey from his beehives, and will even enter churches when beeswax candles are being lighted.

1.Why is it difficult to find a wild bees' nest?

AIt's small in size.BIt's buried in the soil.

CIt's covered with wax.DIt's hidden in trees.

4.What can be the best title for the text?

The Milu deer has returned to China. At present there are not many Milu deer in nature parks in China, but the number is increasing every year.

The Milu deer is a kind of deer that used to be common in China long ago. However, it disappeared during the Ming and the Qing periods. Too many of the deer had been killed and they disappeared.

Until recentlythe only Milu deer alive in the world belonged to the Duke(公爵) of Bedford in England. Some deer had been taken to England, where they were kept in the great park. They liked the cool wet weather there and their number increased year by year. Today this park in England has the largest number of Milu deer in the world. In factthere are now so many deer that some are being sent to places which would like to return this kind of deer to the wild.

At present, the biggest nature park for Milu deer in China is the Nanhaizi Milu Park, which is about 20 kilometres south of Beijing. It is an important research centre for nature and wildlife. The life of the Milu deer is being studied there.

The first deer arrived at the centre in 1985 from Britain. By 1993 the number of Milu deer at the centre had grown from 20 to more than 200.

Another centre for Milu deer is in Dafeng in Jiangsu Province. In 1985, 39 Milu deer were brought to the province from Britain. Since then the number of Milu deer there has greatly increased.

More Milu deer are being moved to a new large nature park in Shishou in Hubei Province. At all these centres it is hoped that one day they will have enough animals to set them free and live in the wild again. So once more there will be Milu deer living in the wild in China.

Recently I paid a visit to Harvard University, where there are top class scientists and professors and the best academic system in the world.

I was pretty shocked when I first stepped onto the campus. Well, it’s not ever really a campus. It’s a more like district in a small town.

Harvard's main buildings are from the 18th century. They look very old and simple. You might even say they're a little shabby (破舊的). They don’t fit the modern idea of university at all. The buildings are surrounded by grass and trees, so I felt as if I had walked into a medieval castle. But when I looked across the street, busy shops and in-fashion students made me feel like I was in the 21st century again. It creates a strong contrast (對比) and brings a special atmosphere (氛圍) to the school.

Our tour guide Gary took us around and told us: “You see this grass field in the center of the school? Here is where they host their graduation ceremony. They just set up tents and benches and have a very simple ceremony. Unbelievable! Who would think the most talented students just graduate on the lawn?”

I saw some students put a blanket on the grass and lie down to read a book. When I listened to the soft sound of pages turning, along with chirping of the birds, I felt very calm. There was no competitive feeling at all.

Harvard has the world’s first computer in its science center and there are hundreds of high-end computers too. Its religion and the literature departments are also among the best. It is the perfect mix of tradition and new technology. It makes Harvard a very attractive place to study in.

I hope one day I’ll attend my dream school—Harvard.

1.According to the article the author was most impressed by ____.

A. Harvard’s mix of tradition and new technology

B. the classes held on beautiful lawns at Harvard

C. Harvard students not taking their graduation ceremony seriously

D. the feeling of not living in modern society on the campus

2.What can we conclude from the article?

A. Harvard campus is actually a district of a big city.

B. There are no competitions at Harvard University.

C. Graduation ceremonies are not complex at Harvard.

D. All Harvard buildings date back to the 18th century.

3.Which word can be used to describe the Harvard campus?

A. Modern              B. Competitive         C. Peaceful             D. Splendid
