Facing the fierce competition, some students are possibly easy to get psychological problems. They often feel low or depressed, worried, nervous and discouraged when they met with difficulties and trouble. Some feel great pressure of study, being afraid of their teachers’ questions and worried about examinations. Meanwhile, others feel lonely and are unwilling to communicate with their classmates or friends. Personally, I think a good solution to those problems is to set up a goal of study and take an active part in varieties of activities held by the class or the school.

When you are far away from home for the first time and have a lot to adjust to,you can't do it alone. However independent you are,it is good to have a roommate during your first year.

Living with someone helps ease your loneliness. Sure it may seem appealing to be able to play your music and turn up your TV as loud as you want, but coming home to an empty room every day can be depressing. If you have a bad day, you may want to talk to someone.

Friends are great sources of venting (宣泄), but friends can't always be there. Even worse, they may be self?centered and show no interest in your problem. It's not that roommates aren't like this, but even just small talk can help you feel better.

Having a roommate teaches you how to get along with people and settle conflict. You two should set up rules immediately and discuss what to do when there is conflict. If you two don't like each otheryou still study, relax, and sleep in the same room. You must find a way to get along.

Finally, having a roommate exposes (使接觸) you to different ways of living. Your roommate may come from a different city, and have different living habits. He or she also has different interests and personalities. You don't have to end up liking the same things your roommate doesbut_______________________. You will be surrounded by many different people in college and have the chance to try things you never have before. Why not start learning from your roommate?

Having a roommate gives you the skills and personal background you will need to utilize (利用) when you are out on your own. Make the most of living with a stranger and besides, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to have your own room later in your college years.

It was once unheard-of to be a businessman in China. Nowadays, though, it’s quite common to become your own boss. Let’s say you have an idea. Maybe you want to open an English school or sell Japanese comics. First, you need a business plan. It sets out what you’ll sell and how much everything will cost. Most businesses that fail didn’t have this. If you need to borrow money at the start, banks will ask for a detailed plan.

The best starting place for a business plan is the 4Ps: product, place, price and promotion. All these must be strong to be successful.

□Product

Your product must have something unique. What makes it special compared to other similar products? If you want to start a noodle shop that has nothing new, don’t expect people to show much interest. You can research your product. For food, let people try it for free. For toys, let a few children play with them to see if they like them.

□Place

There’s no point having a product that people want to buy if your shop is in an empty mall. Think about which type of person is going to buy what you sell. Where do they usually go shopping? When looking at possible places, spend the day there. See how many people pass by. Also, are there other shops nearby selling similar products? If so, how can you be better than them?

□Price

Work out how much it costs to make or provide your product. As a general rule, your price will be double the cost. After all, you’re also paying for rent, staff and you need to eat too!

□Promotion

How can you attract people to your shop? Advertising in newspapers and on TV is expensive. Perhaps you can get free advertising by getting a newspaper to write about your business.

A. There are shops selling the goods like yours.

B. Many people pass by.

C. You should think about which type of person is going to buy what you sell.

D. You should spend the day on possible places.

5.You are selling toys to children. It costs 5 yuan to make each one. How much should you charge the children for each toy?

President Barack Obama has complained about the loss of privacy that comes with being leader of the United States, regretting the loss of simple pleasures such as a long walk or a trip to the car wash or supermarket.

“I just miss---I miss being anonymous,” he said. “I miss Saturday morning, rolling out of bed, not shaving, getting into my car with my girls, driving to the supermarket, squeezing the fruit, getting my car washed, taking walk. I can't take a walk”.

His dream, he said, was to “go through Central Park and watch for passing by…spend the day watching people --- I miss that”.

Faced with angry criticism for playing more golf than most previous occupants of the White House, he explained that the sport was simply the best way of getting away from it all. “It's the only excuse I have to get outside for four hours.” he told Hearst magazines.

Though he said he enjoyed his life in the White House, he felt disappointed with some of the ways of Washington, which he has failed in his permission to change, such as the "kabuki dance" among political parties before serious policy discussions begin. His comments may be seen as vindication(證實)by critics who have accused him of appearing too detached(漠然), and being slow to engage in vital issues such as Libya and the near shutdown of the US government last week.

Since arriving at the White House in January 2009, Mr. Obama has already racked up 60 rounds of golf in office, more than George W Bush did in his eight years. In terms of ability, Golf Digest magazine has ranked Mr. Obama eighth out of the 18 presidents who played the game since it became established in the early 20th century.

1.What do the second paragraph and the third paragraph mainly tell us?

A. Obama likes living a busy life.

B. Obama used to spend most of his time with his family.

C. Obama wishes to enjoy simple pleasures.

D. He used to wash his car himself.

2.According to Obama, he plays golf to .

A. release his pressure B. keep fit

C. balance his work D. show his ability

3.We can infer from the passage that Obama is kabuki dance.

A. curious about B. interested in

C. content with D. tired of

4.Which of the following statements is from the critics?

A. The president lost lots of privacy, but he loves the life in the White House.

B. There are always unnecessary procedures among political parties.

C. The president seems to be indifferent (漠不關(guān)心的) towards some really important issues.

D. The president is really a great golf player.

5.What is the passage mainly about?

A. Obama's favorite pastime.

B. Obama’s complaints about lack of privacy as president.

C. The public's criticism of Obama.

D. Obama's regrets for being the US president.
