In the United States, 30 percent of the people have a “weight problem”. To many people the cause is obvious (明顯的): they eat too much. But scientific evidence (證據(jù)) does little to support this idea. Going back to America of 1910, we find that people were thinner than today, yet they ate more food. Encouraging pupils to keep noise to a minimum should be a valuable component of all children’s education, according to new research.
Dr. Helen Lees, from Stirling University’s school of education, says that “enforced（強(qiáng)制的）silence” is seen as a punishment and often acts to suppress children’s natural ability. ●Don’t punish yourself
