After the examination, a parents’ meeting will be held in our school this weekend. Parents’ meetings are often held to help parents contact the school and teachers and improve the students’ studies, but there are some different voices in our class.

Most students think it is of great importance to have the meeting for their parents because in this way parents will know more about their children at school, which of course contributes to their growth. What is more, parents can get some good advice and useful information from teachers. After all, parents are not professional educators and they need some guidance when communicating with children. On the contrary, a minority of students hold the view that it is useless because they think their parents may know their poor marks and improper behavior at school.

As far as I’m concerned, understanding and communicating is the most important. A parents’ meeting should be a good platform on which parents, teachers and even children themselves can voice their opinions. So parents’ meetings are quite necessary.
