Located in the heart of Beijing, west of Tian’anmen Square, the Grand Theater is a modern-style building. The construction began in December 2001 and was completed in late September last year. The theater covers an area of 35,500 square meters. It looks like a big egg, surrounded by an artificial lake. The opera hall is the most important part inside the theatre.
