If you' ve ever wondered how dancers would tell the story of a man and a woman's love for each other through dance moves,you should watch people dance the Rumba. 36 And it is considered the most passionate(富有激情的) ballroom dance.

Like many Latin dances,the Rumba has its roots(根源) in Africa. When the Spanish first moved to the New World,they brought African slaves to work for them. 37 When they were finished with a hard day's work,they would sometimes find the person they were in love with and dance the Rumba. 38 They wanted to dance the Rumba in public! .

      The dance slowly spread and grew in popularity. Then,in the 1930s,the famous dance teacher Monsieur Pierre saw the Rumba being danced in New York and he decided it was so exciting and interesting it should be danced in London'too. 39

    Today there are several types of Rumba people dance. Some dance a type of Rumba that is

     EDMONTON,CANADA — The Etzio is one of the oldest buildings in one of the city5 s oldest neighbourhoods,butit'ssettobeknockeddown. Edmontonians are hoping more can be done to preserve(保留) more of the city's history.

     “The reason the area is popular in the first place is because it's a historic neighbourhood.      It's a move that disappoints Wilson and others on the street who believe more should be done to keep the character of Edmonton.

     “I think in this area it's important because it keeps the flavour of Edmonton,and Edmonton is known for Whyte Ave.,” said a woman on Saturday afternoon.

     “Some of the old culture should still be there ,I think added a man who was walking along the street. “It makes Edmonton unique(獨(dú)一無二的) .Without it,it just becomes another mall or it could be any other city in the world."

    Wilson 一 looking fondly at the old building 一 believes a little piece of history is lost with every building that's tom down.

       After the Etzio building is tom down,the Old Strathcona Hotel and the Ross building will be the only two buildings left from the 1800s.
