A recent research shows that physical activity(體育活動) may help students do better in their classes. The research comes because educators in some countries are reducing time for activities like P.E. class.
Researchers go over the results of fourteen studies. Twelve were from the United States, one from Canada and one from South Africa. The studies appeared between 2009 and 2013. They included more than 55,000 children, aged six to eighteen.
Thomas Singh, one of the researchers, says the studies showed a relationship between physical activity and scores on subjects such as math, English and reading. Ms. Singh offers some possible explanations (解釋):
“ There are, first, physiological (生理的) explanations, like more blood flow, and so more oxygen (氧氣) to the brain. Being physically active means there are more hormones( 荷爾蒙) produced like endorphins ( 腦內(nèi)啡). And endorphins make your stress level lower and your mood improved, which means you will perform better in class. Also, students who take part in organized sports learn rules and how to follow them. This could improve their classroom behavior and help them know what they should do.
All in all, the finding tells us that physically active kids are more likely to do better in school. Ms. Singh says schools should consider the finding before they cut physical education programs.
小題1:What led the researchers to do the studies?

The more books you read, the better your life will be. If you don’t believe me, please consider the following reasons to read more books.

You will travel to a new world . Sometimes our daily life can start to get boring . At times like this, I like to dive into a good fiction book, where I can forget about whatever problems are stressing me out. You will improve your vocabulary . The more words you’re able to use, the better you will become at expressing your thoughts and feelings. Once I went shopping on my first visit to Macao. Coming from cold and cloudy England, I enjoyed the sun and dressed in a T-shirt and a        skirt. Not having much        to enjoy the sun in England, my legs were very white. In England this is not a fashionable look at all . Most women spend every sunny day out trying to get darker skin. The darker the skin, the better the look. I have tried to get darker but         works for me!
As I        one shop, the two shop assistants kept looking at my legs the whole time , talking quietly to each other in Chinese. I began to feel uncomfortable and asked my friend     we could leave. After we left the shop, she asked me what was wrong. I complained about the shop assistants being very impolite . They     be talking about my white skin. My friend laughed. “They weren’t laughing at you. They were saying how nice your legs are. Many Chinese women want to have white skin like yours.       , there are many beauty products in the shops to make skin whiter and a lot of money is spent on them.”
It just shows that we are never happy with what we have. The grass is       greener on the other side. Tips for avoiding traffic jams:
The radio has more than just music. Check the local news station for the latest traffic report. Or go online and check traffic cameras before you set out. If there is a jam, you'll be prepared and can try another route.
Take the road less traveled. Although highways may be the most direct route, back (偏僻的) roads can be much less crowded, which can save you from the frustration of the stop-and-go traffic.
Rush hour isn't just a lovely nickname. It means the morning and afternoon traffic lasts for several hours, but they're still called "rush hour" for a reason - everyone's on the road and in a hurry to get somewhere. Treat rush hour like bad weather - if you don't have to go anywhere, stay off the roads.
Tips for those unavoidable traffic jams:
Don't break the law. You've gone 30 feet in 30 minutes and all of a sudden you see people using the shoulders(緊急停車道). Don't behave like them. Not only is this illegal, but also there's a good  chance they'll get caught or cause even more problems.
Pay extra attention to zig-zaggers (Z字形行進者). When some people are anxious, they may start changing lanes(車道)every 5 seconds or cut you off, Keep checking your windows and mirrors. for these lane changers.
Look for an escape. If it is possible to exit the road safely, do it. Use a GPS unit, and you can change your route mid-trip if needed.
Be courteous. Good manners could help you avoid a possible accident. Allow people in from a lane that is ending. Speeding up to keep them out increases your chances of an accident.
