Why do we need to throw less away? There are two reasons. One is that some resources(資源)are nonrenewable(不可再生的). That means there is only a certain amount of that resource in the world. One example of these resources is oil. When we use up all the oil in the world, there will be no more.
There is a second reason for throwing less away. All of our trash has to be put somewhere. Often, it is put into garbage dumps(垃圾場(chǎng)). Much of that trash will be there for hundreds of years. The dumps ill be filled up with all this trash.
There are three ways to cut down on trash.
One way is to recycle. When you recycle something, it means it is made into another shape and used again. Old newspapers may become paper bags. A glassware can be melted(熔化)and made into a bottle.
Another way to cut down on trash is to reuse things. You can wash and use a bottle again that can hold mustard(芥末醬)or something else.
The third way to cut down on trash is to reduce the amount of trash you make, for example, stopping buying things that you don’t need in the first place. That reduces the amount of the earth’s resources.

When you get tired of homework, several minutes’ walk in a nearby green park helps you relax at once. Or you may stand facing the lake or the sea. They’ll calm (not to be excited or nervous) you just like the green plants.
Wonder why? Color is a key part of the answers. Since it is so, green and blue help make people feel more quiet and safe.
All colors have special power. Scientists have found that many colors have specific effects (效果) on people’s minds and feelings.
Try an easy and interesting experiment and you’ll see how color “misleads” you sometimes. Wrap (包裝) two boxes of the same size with colored paper, one red and the other white. Then weigh the two boxes with your hands. Which one is heavier? Most people will think that the red box is heavier, even though they weigh the same.
Colors can affect (影響) learning. Scientists have found that students spend more time reading if they read information written in blue text. Blue helps most people calm down and think more.
Smart (clever) uses of colors in daily life are to be seen everywhere. Hospital and libraries seldom (很少) paint their walls, tables and desks red. They use light colors, like light blue or green. Red makes people excited while light colors help them relax. Haven’t worked out how color affects your daily life? Start with your small room. What will the house look like in the future? Could it have gardens on its walls, or a pool with fish for dinner? Architects(建筑師) believe that they are all possible. The only thing for sure is that the houses will be as green as possible.
The tree house
Many architects in the world would like to build a “tree house.” Like a leaf, the surface of the house collects sunlight during the day. The energy can be used to heat water, produce electricity, and even create fresh air for the home. The “root” (根) of the house is deep under the ground. It uses the soil (土壤) to keep the home’s temperature.
 The Lizard house
Like a lizard (蜥蜴), changing color with the weather is the most important design of a lizard house. When it’s in the bright sun, the cover of the house will turn dark to protect it from strong heat. During dark days, it turns white and takes in as much light and heat as possible to produce energy.
 Meals at home
This design is perhaps as much about the future of food production as architecture (建筑風(fēng)格). It has gardens on the outside wall of the house. People can plant tomatoes, carrots and green tea on them. So every day in the morning, you just need to walk outside and collect your meals.
Learning from the past
Looking to the future isn’t the only way to be green. Sometimes, ancient techniques (古老的技術(shù)) can also help cut down energy use. For example, a chimney (煙囪) can be a useful air conditioner because it is easier to flow out hot air from the chimney.
小題1:What is the best title (標(biāo)題) of the passage?

A.It will take in light.B.It will produce energy.

A.will be more deliciousB.need more cooks
C.cost as much as possibleD.will be greener

China launched its first space lab module Tiangong-1 on the evening of September 29, 2011, at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China.
President Hu Jintao praised the successful launch of China's first space lab module Tiangong-1, and shook hands with the staff of the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center.
Premier Wen Jiabao and He Guoqiang also shook hands with the staff at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to congratulate on the success.
Tiangong-1, which is scheduled to dock(與……對(duì)接) with the Shenzhou-8 spacecraft later this year, will pave the way for building China's first space station.
During its two-year service life, Tiangong-1 will mainly conduct four tasks, such as experiments of autonomous rendezvous(自主交會(huì)) and docking procedures(程序) with the Shenzhou-8, -9, and -10 spacecrafts in the coming launches, aiming to establish the country's first space lab, according to Wu Ping, spokesperson for China's national space administration.
According to the plan for China's manned space program, the Shenzhou-10 will be a manned spacecraft, possibly carrying a female Chinese astronaut who will test manual space rendezvous and docking with the Tiangong-1.
