      Sarah walked into Churchill Elementary. She had just moved to town,and this was her first day at her new school. Sarah and her parents took a tour of the school the week before,but this was Sarah's first day on her own. She went to the “Counseling Center”. That was where she had been told to go first She walked in and introduced herself to Ms. Jacobs,the counselor. “Hi,I'm Sarah Sorensen. Today's my first day here. ”

      Ms. Jacobs said ,“Hi,Sarah. Nice to meet you. We’re so glad you’re here!” She reached into a drawer and pulled out a piece of paper. “This is your class schedule. ”

     “Thanks!” Sarah said She took it and studied it. She was pretty happy with her classes. When she looked up,Ms. Jacobs handed her a card with her locker number on it.

      Ms. Jacobs told Sarah how to open her locker and invited Sarah to come in anytime she needed help.

      Sarah thanked Ms. Jacobs and headed off to find her locker. But she couldn’t find it.

     “Can I help you?” She looked up and saw a girl about her age.

     “Yeah ,” said Sarah. “I'm trying to find my locker. Do you know where L hall is?”

     “L hall?” the girl asked. “There is no L hall. ”

     “That's funny ,” said Sarah. “That's what it says on this card that Ms. Jacobs gave me. ”

     “Can I see your card?” asked the girl. She took the card from Sarah. “Aha!” she said “I know where your locker is. 99 She showed Sarah the card again. Both girls laughed. Sarah was holding the card upside down.
