Dear editor,
I live in a beautiful city. Many visitors come to my city every year because there are so many colorful peacocks (孔雀) here.
The peacocks mostly live on the grassland of Dongfeng Square. Visitors usually throw food to them, but they don’t think about at all whether the food is good or not. Some of the peacocks became ill, and some even died eating the bad food given by visitors.
I’m sure most of the visitors who throw food to the peacocks really like the bird, but they don’t realize that they may be doing them harm (傷害). Visitors should be told that what they have done is harmful to the birds, and this kind of thing must be stopped.
Perhaps we can build some small shops beside Dongfeng Square to sell peacock food. For us every person, it is our duty to give more love to these beautiful birds to look after them carefully.
Yours,
Wang Yang

He came again the next day and worked until it was time to leave. His name was Jerry. He was 12 and had been at the Children’s Home(孤兒院)since he was only four.  I thought of him. He was honest(誠實). For example, the handle (柄) of the ax (斧)broke one day. Jerry said the Children’s Home would mend it. I handed him some money to pay for it. He wouldn’t take the money. "I’ll pay for it, mama. If you think you’re too shy and want to be a little bit brave, try the following:
You can make it. Tell people you’re shy. There’s no need to hide it. When they get to know you’re a shy kid, they’ll understand you better. This also helps you feel more relaxed in talks.
Try to smile more. When you smile, people think you’re friendly and easy to talk to. Remember that other people have feelings too and most people will stay away from an angry-looking face.
Learn to be a good talker. If you find it hard to start talks, say something nice about people around you. Think about how great you feel when someone says something nice to you. Doesn’t it make you want to keep talking to that person?
Get your attention elsewhere(在別處). Think more about ways to enjoy parties or games. Don’t waste time worrying about your look or whether people like you or not.
