閱讀短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答下列問題。
Internet is educational. Many people think children should be allowed to surf the Internet as they wish. In this way, they can look through different subjects on different kinds of websites according to their own interests. But in my opinion, children should always be watched while surfing the Internet.
Many websites have information and pictures that children should not see. There are many things that children don’t understand. All of these may have some bad influence on children’s development. Also, it is dangerous to let children chat in rooms by themselves. Many parents tell their children not to talk to strangers on the street, so they should be careful of whom their children talk to on the Internet too. What’s more , sitting in the front of a computer for a long time isn't good for children’s eyes, so parents should monitor(監(jiān)視) the time that children spend on the Internet.
In a word, children should be kept away from anything that could be bad for them. I strongly believe that it is necessary for parents to watch their children when they use the Internet.
1. When should the children always be watched in the writer’s opinion?
____________________________________________________________
2.What do the parents tell children to do when they meet strangers on the street?

3.Why shouldn’t children sit in front of a computer for a long time?

4.Who can help children stay away from the bad influence on the Internet?
___________________________________________________________
5.What does the writer want to tell us in the passage?

A group of classmates got together to visit their old teacher.
These classmates all had good jobs and made lots of money. They talked happily. Then their talk soon turned to complaining about the stress (壓力) in work and life. The teacher went to the kitchen and came back with a large pot of coffee and many cups—china (瓷制的) ones, plastic ones and glass ones. Some are plain (樸素的) looking, some are expensive and some are lovely. The teacher told them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the teacher said, “Can you notice that all of you took nice-looking expensive cups, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones? You want only the best for yourselves, and that is the source (根源) of your problems.”
“What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you went for the best cups and then began looking at each other’s cups.”
“Now think about this: life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position (位置) in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold, and do not change the life. Sometimes, by caring only about the cups, we fail to enjoy the coffee. So don’t let the cups drive you, and enjoy the coffee instead.”

A. Because they cared too much about things that were not important.
B. Because they understood the meaning of life.
C. Because they knew about life itself and enjoyed it.
D. Because they drank too much coffee.
4.What is the best title of this passage?
A. Coffee or Cup B. An Old Teacher
C. Stress in Your Life D. What Do You Want
5.What can we learn from the teacher’s words?
A. We should use the plain and cheap cups to drink coffee.

Nearly eight hundred million people in this world cannot read or write, most of them in developing countries. Two-thirds are women and girls.
John Wood who started the Room to Read campaign(運動), has opened 1,650 schools and 15,000 libraries in some of the world’s poorest communities(社區(qū)). He said that from the beginning, Room to Read’s goal was to reach 10 million children around the world in the poorest countries.
In 1998, on a three-week vacation journey in Nepal, Wood met a local headmaster who invited him to visit his school in a far mountain village. The experience changed Wood’s life.
“This headmaster had 450 students at the school, but he didn’t have any books,” Wood said.” He had a library that was empty.”
Wood promised to fill the library shelves and returned to the village year later with some of his friends with 3,000 books. And that was just the start. Later, Wood used some of his personal money to start Room to Read. He believes that world change begins with educated children. Today, the programme can be found in 10 countries across Asia and Africa.
Wood believes the key to the program’s success is local support .While Room to Read gives away money and provides books, communities offer land and parents help build the school. Agnes, a Room to Read teacher in Zambia who also runs the library, is proud to say the literacy at her school has improved. Room to Read’s biggest challenge is the huge need. Hundreds of communities have asked for literacy programmes. One way of Room to Read’s success is that it will achieve Wood’s goal of reaching 10 million kids by 2015, five years earlier than it is planned.

People know the danger of fires. It is good for a family to learn how to prepare for a fire. Here are some suggestions (建議).
Put a smoke alarm(警報) in the house. The alarm makes a loud sound when there is too much smoke in the house. The sound tells everyone to leave the house at once.
Make escape (逃脫) plans. They should know all the way out of the house. If there is a fire, everyone follows the plan to get out. One part of the plan is to check all the windows to make sure they can be opened easily.
Buy fire extinguishers(滅火器) in the house. Everyone in the family should know how to use them.
Practise for a fire. Parents do fire practice because they teach children about fire safety. Everyone in the family should know the following fire rules.
★Don’t open a hot door! The fire can grow more quickly if you open the door.
★Stay close to the floor! Smoke can be more dangerous than fire. The best air is near the floor because smoke rises(升起).
