It is Sunday today. It is       lovely weather       we want to spend the day on the beach.

A.such a; that        B.such; that         C.such; as           D.so; that

【答案】

B

【解析】

試題分析:句意:今天是星期天。多么美好的天氣啊,以致于我們今天都想去海灘。weather為不可數(shù)名詞,such+adj+不可數(shù)名詞+that,如此…以至于,固定結(jié)構(gòu),故選B

考點(diǎn):so/such的區(qū)別

點(diǎn)評:such修飾單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞時(shí),不定冠詞a/an通常放在such之后緊挨著;而so則不同,不定冠詞位置不同。其結(jié)構(gòu)分別為: such a/ an +形容詞+單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞;so +形容詞+a/an+單數(shù)名詞。such除了修飾單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞外,還可以修飾復(fù)數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞,so是副詞,修飾形容詞或副詞。如果復(fù)數(shù)名詞前有few,many等形容詞;不可數(shù)名詞前有l(wèi)ittle,much等形容詞,就必須用so,而不能用such

The word“day” has two meanings. When we talk about the number of days in a year,  we are using “day” to mean 24 hours. But when we talk about day and night,  we are using“day” to mean the time between sunrise and sunset. Since the earth looks like a ball,  the sun can shine on only half of it at a time. Always one half of the earth is having day and the other half night. A place is moved from day into night and from night into day over and over by the spinning(旋轉(zhuǎn))of the earth. At the equator(赤道)day and night are sometimes the same length(長度). They are each twelve hours long. The sun rises at 6 o’clock in the morning and sets at 6 o’clock in the evening. For six months the North Pole is tilted(傾斜)toward the sun. In those months the Northern Hemisphere(半球)gets more hours of sunlight than the Southern Hemisphere. Days are longer than nights. South of the equator nights are longer than days. For the other six months the North Pole is tilted away from the sun. Then the Southern Hemisphere gets more sunlight. Days are longer than nights. North of the equator nights are longer than days. Winter is the season of long nights. Summer is the season of long days.

Millions of stars are travelling about in space. A few form groups which travel together, but most of them travel alone.
And they travel through a universe which is so large that one star seldom comes near to another. For the most important part each star makes its journey in complete loneliness, like a ship on an empty ocean. The ship will be well over a million miles from its nearest neighbour. From this it is easy to understand why a star seldom finds another anywhere near it.
We believe, however, that some two thousand million years ago, another star wandering(漫游) through space, happened to come near our sun just as the sun and the moon raised itstides(潮汐) on the earth, so this star must have raised tides on the surface of the sun. But they were very different from the small tides that are raised in our oceans; A large tidal(潮汐的) wave must have travelled over the surface of the sun, at last forming a mountain so high that we cannot imagine it. As the cause of the disturbance came nearer, so the mountain rose higher and higher. And before the star began to move away again, its tidal pull had become so powerful that this mountain was torn to pieces and thrown off small parts of itself into space.
These small pieces have been going round the sun ever since. They are the planets.
