YL短文填空(2015 •重慶B卷)
根據(jù)下面短文內(nèi)容,在短文的空格處填上一個恰當(dāng)?shù)?詞,使短文完整、通順。Which is better, writing or typing (打字) ?These days, many college students have given up taking class notes by hand. 1,they type on laptops (手提電腦) because they think typing is fast, and they can write more notes. But a new research has 2 that taking notes by hand is in fact better for long-term memory.
In this research, students were asked to listen to a teacher. Some took notes by typing on a laptop. The 3 took notes by writing them down. Then they were given a test. Both groups got almost the same result in 4 the facts. But students who typed their notes did worse on conceptual (需要理解的) questions.
Why is it like this? The answer is that writing by hand is slow,5 it gives the students more time to think about the questions they don't understand. They are 6 to write down the main points. “This leads to a deeper understanding ,” say the scientists.
However, the students typing notes on a laptop usually just write down what the 7 says word for word in class. Although they can write more notes, they just type without really thinking 8 what they are typing. “This usually leads to mindless transcription (抄錄) ”,say the scientists.
So if you want to remember something better, write it by hand!

YI.閱讀理解(2015 •江西) Today there are many more fires than in the past. Over 100,000 wildfires burn each year in America. Russia has 20 ,000 to 35,000 wildfires every year. Australia has on average 60 ,000 each year. These Hres destroy (損害) huge areas of forests and burn hundreds of homes.
Many experts believe there are several reasons for this sudden increase in fires. The first reason is climate (氣候) change. Recent weather has been warmer and drier. This leads to dangerous fire conditions. When lightning strikes (發(fā)生雷電) ,dry grass easily catches fire. Hot winds add to the problem. The wind spreads a fire quickly. In 2010,Russia had the hottest and driest summer in a century. In just one month,500 fires destroyed over 2 ,000 homes. Some people lost their lives.
Traditional fire-fighting practices are another reason for the increase in fires. In America, firefighters used to quickly put out every fire. They didn't allow the grass and trees to burn. As a result, today many forests have thicker vegetation (植被) . Thicker vegetation means more fuel(燃料) for fires. Also, without fires from time to time, forests become overcrowded and unhealthy. Some trees are dead. The dead wood then easily catches fire. So surprisingly,America has many more fires today partly because of its past fire-fighting practices.
Scientists now understand that a fire can be a natural part of a healthy forest. As a result, countries like Australia allow more fires to burn naturally. Sometimes, firefighters even start fires to get rid of (去除) dead wood. Of course, they carefully control the fires. The fire thins out old trees. This allows sunlight to reach the ground. As a result, fires help new trees to grow. Therefore,if a fire is not a serious threat (威脅) to people, firefighters may let it burn naturally.
1. Why did Russia have so many fires in one month in 2010?
A. Because lightning spread the fire.

A. Fires are serious threats to human beings.
B. Australian firefighters don't put out fires.

So how do we keep safe I during a lightning storm?
If you are indoors, stay away from windows and doors during a lightning storm. Don’t take a shower or do some dishes, because lightning can travel through water. Turn off the TV and computer. My computer was once broken. Never use telephone. Lightning could travel through the phone line and hit you.
If you are outdoors during a lightning storm, never take shelter (避雨) under a tree, because the lightning could hit the tree and travel through the tree to hit you. Stay away from anything that is metal. Try to get in your car and close all the windows or go into a nearby building right away. If there's no building around, try to find a low place to stay in.
