After a busy morning at work, lunchtime gives me a chance to do many things, such as exercising, reading or watching TV. One cultural difference I've noticed between Britain and China is what we do during lunchtime.
In China, people use lunchtime to rest and take a nap (小睡). I often see office workers rest their heads at their desks. Sometimes,I see workers in restaurants also taking short naps.
However in Britain, this activity is quite uncommon. British students usually have a one-hour lunch break. Instead of napping, they fill that time by playing sports or talking with friendAnd many workers in Britain don't get the chance to nap. They generally have short lunch breaks — between 30 minutes to an hour. So there is not enough time to have a good nap. Because of the short breaks,it is common for people to work through lunch, and have food at their desks.
Yet in China, workers have longer lunch breaks, giving them a better chance to sleep. And interestingly,it's not only Chinese who enjoy napping. Spain is famous for their afternoon naps, which are called siestas. It usually lasts arou neb two hours!

An 18-yek--old boy from New Jersey,Justin Beckerman, has built his own submarine (潛水艇) !
He calls it The Nautilus.
Justin spent six months and about $ 2,000 building the submarine from the parts he found in stores or online.
"I spent about one or two weeks designing it," Justin said in an interview. " I spent about two more weeks looking for all the parts."
The submarine uses ballast tanks (壓載艙) to stay underwater. A ballast tank is part of a submarine that holds water. It lets in water to help the submarine go down and lets water out to help the submarine go up.
Justin also had to work out how to start the submarine. "The submarine has four battery systems (系統(tǒng)) 一three nain systems and one emergency (緊急情況) system,he said. The submarine's batteries allow it to move underwater for about two hours.
Testing a machine underwater can be dangerous,so Justin's parents keep a close watch on him every time he goes down.
He has also made an emergency plan to keep him safe if something goes wrong. He uses a PA system to communicate when he is underwater.
