A man had a little daughter-an only and much-loved child. He lived for her. So
when she became ill, he became a crazy man. He tried everything to bring her health
back.
However, his efforts didn't work and the child died. The father was really sad,
shutting himself away from his friends and refusing to do any activity. He didn't
want anything to bring him back to his normal self until one night he had a dream.

He was in heaven and saw a group of all the little children angels (天使). They were walking in a line. All
the angels were wearing white clothes and each child carried a candle (蠟燭). He noticed that one child's
candle was not lighted (點(diǎn)燃). Then he saw that the child was his little girl. ______ he rushed to her right away
and put her into his arms. He kissed her and then asked, "Why is your candle alone unlighted, darling?"
"Daddy, they often light it again, but your tears always put it out."
Just then he woke up from his dream. The lesson was clear, and its effects were quick. From that hour on,

Imagine this: your parents go away on business, but you have to stay at home alone. Would life be as easy as when your parents are around? Would it be a perfect holiday for you?
'”I can fill an empty stomach with tomato and egg soup, but that's all. I think many of my classmates are the same. We wouldn't know what to do, or how to look after ourselves," said Zheng Chenyu. "And I'd forget something important. I'd probably watch television and burn the soup. "
“As soon as I leave home, I'll learn to cook. But now parents do almost everything for us. We’re very lazy, "she said.
Most teenagers have only time for their homework. They don't learn any life skills until they go to college.
However, Sima Yige doesn't think so.
"I think I'd be all right. I wouldn't just eat sandwiches or fruit. I know how to cook, some simple dishes because my mum showed me," the 13 - year - old boy said. What’s going to happen in the future? Here are some things that scientists say is most likely to happen 10 to 30 years from now.

1. Digital money

We used to pay with cash(現(xiàn)金)for everything we bought. In fact, we are already using one type of digital money, when we swipe(刷)our bus pass or use a credit card(信用卡)to shop online.

You have to admit that using a card is much easier than searching your pocket for change. It is also _________ than _________a lot of cash with you. You needn’t worry about your cash being stolen. People in Sweden completely stopped using cash last year and the US might be next.

2. Bionic(仿生的)eye

(1)People who are blind may have a chance to get their sight back---by wearing bionic eyes. A blind eye can no longer sense light, but a bionic eye can use a camera to “see” the environment and send data into the brain.

Although the bionic eye that’s out now only allow patients to see lights and unclear shapes, a high resolution(高清的)version could be just a few years away.

3. Self-driving car

Unlike a human driver, a self-driving car won’t be distracted (分神)by a phone call, the radio or something outside the window. Sensors(探測器)and cameras on the car would allow it to keep strictly to the rules of the road and keep a safe distance from other cars. This would greatly reduce the number of road accidents. There are many things you can do to improve your memory. Among them are many kinds of useful ways as well as taking special care of your health.

(1)It is _______ that you make ________ excited to make your memory more active. You can do this by doing some new activities and by changing your daily habits. Learning a new skill helps your brain(大腦)to develop. When trying to remember something, you should pay special attention to the most important things about it. Do not allow other thoughts to enter your mind because this will reduce your chances of making right memories.

An excellent way to help memory is to connect information with pictures. Try to see the pictures in your mind. Taking notes and keeping a diary will also be helpful.

(3)Healthy food and plenty of vitamins are necessary for your memory to work well. Drinking a lot of water also helps keep your memory. You must allow your brain to have enough sleep and rest. When you are asleep, your brain stores memory. Not enough sleep can cause problems with storing information. And being tired will also stop you from being able to think clearly and well.
