Some children in poor areas cannot go to school when they are old enough to have schooling．Many young girls from the countryside must work and take care of their families．They have no chance to get an education．In 2004, the Hong Kong committee for UNICEF organized an activity to help these girls in China．A: They called it Passing Love Charity CARathon．

Many charity activities have people walk to raise money．Other people can give them some money for each kilometer they walk．But what does CARathon mean? Do you know what a marathon （馬拉松賽）is? Well, UNICEF made a marathon for people driving cars．Each car drove to many different places．They visited places like Shenzhen and Shantou before returning to Hong Kong． The CARathon lasted three days．At each stop, the participants （參與者）got out and had a party together． B: The charity activity was very fun and so many people joined it．The participants raised a lot of money for the charity．Now, the charity can help girls in poor areas go to school．

A charity's job is to give money, goods, or help to poor and sick people．This charity decided to plan a fun trip so that local people would come．The participants had an enjoyable three-day trip, and now many poor girls in China will receive an education．One day, these poor girls may be able to start a better life．
